So very close...

Guys....as I type this post, I have 2 days and 28 minutes until I get to GO HOME!!!! Yes,  I do in fact have a countdown going on my computer. It's quite distracting, blinking at me from the lower right hand corner of my screen. It's kind of sad, how long I can watch the seconds tick by...annnnnd there goes another minute :D

Anyway, I had my Spanish exam today and think I did pretty well. Now I just need to get through tomorrow and study for my last exam on Thursday. Then I'm outta this place!! Bye bye Wofford! Can't say I'll miss you all that much...of course, I'll miss my friends. Hey, here's a list of things I certainly won't miss:

1. My room. Itty bitty living space, concrete floor, creepy bugs that try to eat me (I'm talking big spiders, people), snoring roommate (and by snoring, I really mean it...she gets loud!!), sketchy air conditioning with mold growing inside (do I really need cool air...who knows what sort of toxins are being expelled?!), and lastly, bunk beds. Not so nice when you have to use the restroom during your precious slumber. Uh-uh. I do not enjoy grasping in the dark down a rickety ladder...plus I wear contacts so its a blurry situation haha
My sad adobe...well I do have the lights off so it looks extra depressing

2. Food options on campus. I do not mean to slam my school's dining services but I really feel bad for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free diners, and well.. anyone who likes to eat healthy and/or identify what they're eating. Not a lot of options.

3. Our Sorority girls and Frat guys. First I need to say that our Greek members are NOT like other schools'..here they are horribly cliquish, self-entitled, and to be honest...annoying. Picture this: a group of girls dramatically squealing about getting drunk and hooking up with guys, wearing many pastels and other frightening garments. In general, its hard to find something to talk about with them because they are not very open to those outside their "gang".  On this though I would like to hear from others...what is your Greek situation like on campus? I really hope its better...Wofford's tend to give the Greek system a bad rap which I know is not right.

4. Spartanburg!! I should have known better...it's listed as #17 on America's top 100 most dangerous places to live. Students are told not to leave campus, especially not when it gets late. Cars get broken into, bikes are stolen, and who knows what else goes down! Thankfully, there is some good eatin' around, like Converse Deli (which my friends and I are obsessed with!!) and Lime Leaf, a Thai restaurant. Besides those places, there really isn't much else to do in Spartanburg.

Back to the good stuff!! I've been packed up and pretty much ready to go since last Friday. Thankfully my parents and brother are saints and they came to take my big stuff away already (futon, storage bins, clothes). Now as soon as I put my pencil down after my English exam, I can zoom zoom back home :)

It's going to be glorious! My reunion with my bed, my puppy, my kitchen, and...oh yea, my family I suppose.  All kidding aside, I've missed my family terribly and really look forward to seeing them very soon!!
Callie! How I miss you my boo boo.... Does your dog ever do this with their paws?? Doesn't it look uncomfortable? haha

Speaking of our kitchen...it's been pure torture being away from it, all the while I've been drooling over pictures of food that I can't make, tons of blogs full of recipes I've been dying to try!! As soon as I get back, I'm going on a baking and cooking frenzy! I cannot wait to eat eat eat good food again. I've missed healthy, wholesome meals. I'll let you know what is decent and what is delicious!

You know, blogs are great. They really are. There's fitness blogs (always inspirational....or filled with insanity), book review blogs (don't want to waste time on a bad read, now do we?), and of course, my personal favorite....FOOD blogs!! Girl's gotta eat! And man, nothing gets my hunger pangs a churnin' when I see some of the food wonders bloggers post...Soon I'm going to post links to my favorite food blogs, because things like these NEED to be shared. God bless you Melanie.

Anyway, this brings me to my blog. Welcome, by the way. Can you tell I'm new at this? Oh well! I've been addicted to blogs lately, and while I do like what I've seen, I have yet to find a blog that I can really relate to. I Googled it even! You know a person's desperate when they Google stuff like that. I found Thighs Bigger Than Your Head, quite humorous and such... but about a big man with impeccable fashion, not what a girl is looking for. Then there are some about Fat Legs...which is totally the opposite of what I wanted to find.

This led to me realizing I needed to make a blog about my big legs. Yes, I'll say it again. I've got big legs. I know they make me stand out, but a lot of the times I'm self-conscious of them. They are thanks in part to my lovely gene pool (I'm looking at you, mom and dad), and playing soccer from when I was young up until now, in college. I do get comments from people, mostly compliments from other women and awe from men...(I'm so confused about whether guys are intimidated or actually like strong legs?)

But this blog is not about what other people think, it's about learning to love my legs! They're so strong and help me have an advantage in my sport. I should be thanking them with weekly massages and exfoliation treatments or something. Of course, it's been hard to look at it that way with the way the media and society think women's legs should look...hey, let's just not go there. Skinny legs, big legs, long legs, short legs...all fine by me!

Today I've decided...you know what? I'm keeping them. These legs, I love them. I'm not going to try to fight them or change them. They're what help me back-squat heavy, heavy weight and they are what power me through sprints and up hills.

Sooo...all in all, that's my background story. My blog is going to be about me learning to love my big legs and challenging my fitness and trying new food and hopefully much more. I hope to offer inspiration to other girls with big legs as well as anyone interested in being fit and eating healthy. I am passionate about these things and I am always eager to learn more from others.

The official takeoff of this blog isn't until I finish school, which will be in two more weeks. WHOO HOO!!! My first year of college, almost complete....I do have regrets but I've also had good times here at Wofford. But that's a story for later.
Until then, have a great weekend!!

Erin

My sister and I! I'm on the right. I know....can't even see the legs...Didn't want to scare you away too soon ;)
